I'm still around, just been busy and/or feeling too lazy to talk about stuff.  But I know there's a lot I need to cover: adventures in substitute teaching, another weekend adventure with mustafear, job hunting, dreams, BSG and Office talk, etc.  So hopefully I'll be good this week and update.

While that second one was awesome, it was the first on of the night.  I hate being this tired and going to sleep because I know what I'll dream about will just be insane.

Why oh why did I let myself turn on the Sci-Fi channel at midnight and spend an hour watching a guy try to track down mythological, lethal creatures in Africa?  It's now rapidly approaching 2:30am and I want to go to bed but a (too large) part of me is afraid to fall asleep or some strange thing from South Africa will come sit on my bed, ask for sour milk, and then try to choke me.

I just had to throw out milk yesterday.

My dreams are going to be awful tonight.  Maybe I'll be lucky and won't remember them, but probably not.

Meanwhile, at least DS9 is on.  It's been a while since I've since this particular Star Trek spinoff.  It's my favorite one the franchise has offered.  I forgot how great Sisko was, especially with kids.  No wonder he made it into TV Guide's Top 50 Dads issue.  I love his scenes with Jake.  It makes me melt like the fangirl I am.

Alright, I guess I should try to sleep.  If I''m not here in the morning, blame the tokeloshe.

Last night I dreamt that a guy I went to high school with proposed to me, even though we hadn't been dating.  He had a few Star Wars books in his hands when he asked as if I were to say no he could use those to barter with or something.  He wanted me to pick out my own ring so as an inbetween he offered the championship ring from a basketball tournament he participated in at the YMCA (apparently it was a very ritzy YMCA).    Weird.

On other random fronts, I'm now through the first season of BSG and two episodes of the second season.  I think my favorite little moment so far is how Kara is so irreverant with the arrow and even accidently sits on it.  I still see that show in shots where I think "That would make a sweet icon."  Maybe someday.

I remembered when I went back up to my room last night what I was going to post in here.  Last weekend, Dad had some people from the church over for dinner and was going through our drawer of knit placemats to fancify the dining room table.  In it he found a bunch of sympathy cards from when my grandma passed away 13 years ago, and my sister and I's report cards form 1994.  My fourth grade report card, and her first grade.  I realized when he told me what they were found with (the cards) why they were kept because Grandma passed away right at the end of the school year, but at first I wondered if my parents kept it for the comment that was made from my Dad to my teacher during the first nine weeks regarding something Mrs. Wilson discussed with them at the parent/teacher conference that year.  Dad: "Please keep us informed about the 'eye rolling'."  Yeah, some things haven't changed.

For some reason I was really worried that I'd open up the card and find bad grades.  I mean, by bad grades I mean mostly B's, but there were only one or two.  I also remembered how you waited all year long to see at the bottom of the back page of the card to see that you've been promoted to the next grade.  Weird memories.

And after spending an evening of being jealous of my sister, I found a way to get back at her without even trying.  All it took was dreaming last night that I was married to John Krasinski.  So yay for the double bonus of dreaming that and bragging to my sister.  Granted, while I knew I was married throughout the dream, he didn't show up till the end.  I didn't know who he would be, so it was a nice and happy surprise.  I guess we weren't together or something for Valentine's Day and it was later in the year so he give me a random V-day gift: dinner at a fancy restaurant and some Star Trek memorabilia pins.  Excellent gift.

Just a few things that happened in my dream last night:

• John Krasinski was around and despite Z's efforts to set the two of us up and me trying not to be all starstruck, he instead decided the most popular girl in my high school was better suited for him.  Darn you jerk!dream!JKras.
• Richard Schiff (played Toby on The West Wing) was around.  I asked him if he was going to do any acting soon, and he said no.  He was thinking about going back to his old job: being a Catholic priest.
• I was back in band and we had a concert where our directors (neither of whom were in the service) wore dress Coast Guard or Navy uniforms.  Whichever ones are all white.  Sorry, I'm lacking on military uniform knowledge.
• Someone had gotten rid of all the lockers in the band room and the instruments were lying around in pieces, but thankfully grouped near each other for the various types of instruments.  I played oboe, which meant I now didn't have any reeds.  So I went to the old lady who never was in my high school band program and bought two reeds for $20 (which sadly is only a little higher than what they cost; so unfair that clarinets and saxophones could get a box of like 20 for $5).  And of course as soon as I bought them I broke one.
• Thus I was late going out on stage for the concert, but I wasn't the only one.  And apparently we weren't playing as well as our director thought we should.  So he stopped the performance to yell at us all in get into some people's faces.  Granted he did do this from time to time, just never during an actual performance.

-Last night I dreamed that I got to meet one of my Padawans (writing mentee).  I moved in to give her a hug and said, "Hi, Jessica!"  She took a step back and said, "My name's Mary Ann."  It really isn't, and I have no idea I dreamed it would be.  Or dreamed that stop signs in Oregon are shaped like stars and are painted white.
-I pulled up a name to call at work yesterday and didn't think anything of it other than it was an initial and a last name until I was on the phone asking for "P. Moore".  I felt like I was suddenly Moe and Bart Simpson had called the bar to pull a prank on me.
-You know you're a possibly too big fan of The Office when you get excited that the next place you're calling at work is Scranton, PA or when you ask for a Pamela and the respondent says "This is Pam" and you kind of expected them to say "Dunder Mifflin" first.
-Chex Mix is becoming a new addiction for me.  I have no idea why I didn't like it as a kid.
-This is the kind of weather I wish we could have all year.  And a big reason for that is because of the electric bill and how much smaller it would be.
-I had 75% of the Final Four teams correct, just missed UCLA by thinking Kansas would beat them.

And now I need to stop procrastinating and get my homework done.

I have five pages left to write on my second and final paper due this week.  Once it's finished I'll have written 25 pages in three days this week.  Too bad it isn't fanfiction, because I really need to do some updates.  Speaking of fanfic, I tried to get Leah to own up the to the fact that she said I could challenge her with anything I wanted her to write in the Han and Leia mush category.  I finally come up with an idea, and what happens?  I'm going to end up writing the story.  How is that fair?

I worked with a new person at the cash registers today due to everyone's schedules being mixed up to accomodate finals.  Her name is Jenn and she's a Jewish Studies and Philosophy major.  She's spent a year-and-a-half in Israel and we discussed what life was like there.  I would love to travel beyond the five minutes past the Mexican border I've done.

I cleaned my room today, it looks mucho mejor. 

Yeah, can you tell I'm procrastinating?

Tonight's the finale for the Biggest Loser.  In case you're not familiar with the program, it's one of the few amazingly good reality tv shows on.  It's a contest were obese people come and live at a range for, I'd say, at least a few of months away from their families and in the constant presence of trainers.  Just in the months they've spent at the ranch, a couple of people lost over a hundred pounds.  tonight we find out what happened in the couple of months after they got home and much more weight they've lost.  The transformations are amazing, and they're all done by the close monitoring of doctors, correct diet, and exercise.  And now to change the subject because I'm getting hungry...

I remember my dream from last night, so you know it had to be crazy.  And it was: I had two boyfriends.  I can't get a guy to ask me out when I'm awake, but when I go to sleep I wind up with two guys in a very short period of time.  Again, how is that fair?  I'm completely certain it was because I had ecology on the brain since both of the guys took the class with me, one when I took the intro class at OSU and the other is in class with me now.  I don't really know the second guy's name... does that make me a bad person?

Alright, I guess I should gather the energy to finish this stupid paper.  Since by my various calculations where I calculate at my current rate of words per minute how long it will take for me to finish (stop laughing, Jessica), that I should have been done in about 25 minutes.  But no, instead I watched an episode of The Office (love that show) online and am typing this.

So yeah...
