Three weeks ago I realized I hadn't finished the book even though I'd had it for a month.  Two weeks ago I finally finished it, and today I'm just now caring enough to finish putting up the review (chapters 11 through the end) behind the cut.

I knew I had a copy of Vision of the Future somewhere at home, but couldn't find it for a year.  So I bought another copy, and of course just found the original that I already owned. 

Would anyone like a copy of Vision of the Future?  No charge to you.  Both books are in good condition, but I'll send you the better copy of the two.

What's your thoughts so far?

I'm still here, just alternating between keeping busy and wanting to crash on the couch.

The past weekend was great despite getting sick, which was only a matter of time since student teaching. Went down to visit mustafear and hang out with her super cool friends for a couple of days.  Also got to meet her new cow masquerading as a Great Dane, who is as sweet as she is huge.  The first night I got to fall asleep with both dogs (the other is a miniature schnauzer, and they make quite the pair) cuddled around my legs, but made the mistake of disturbing them to get under the covers and was quickly abandoned.

Jessica introduced me to everyone at church on Sunday in the following manner: "This is my friend, Sara.  We want her to move down here, so keep your ear to the ground about a high school biology teaching position opening up."  I don't know why, but I'm always surprised that people would want me to be around them that much.  It's humbling, flattering, and exciting all at once.

On the student teaching front, we added two large rats to the petting zoo that lives in my classroom.  They're so gross, but thankfully they're being kept in the backroom at the moment.

I had my midterm review today and got all 3s and 4s (4 is the highest), so that was nice.  At the end of the week, I'll be halfway done with things.  It's going by fast, but I'm started to get excited and not completely nervous about going out and finding a job and finally and officially getting to be an adult.

Ugh to NBC and the weather.  This is the second week in a row that Biggest Loser has been interrupted due to weather coverage.  And they keep cutting into to cover Super Tuesday, too.  I just want to see who lost the most weight; is that too much to ask?

I've been doing a lot of reading so far this year thanks to my new library card.   The three books I've finished were Star Trek books.  Two being related to Section 31 and the third being Imzadi.  The Section 31 books were ok.  The DS9 was enjoyable because it had Ro and I could mentally throw in a little Admiral Cain in there, too.  There was a lot of talk about Bashir and his genetic enhancements, which were somewhat interesting.  The other Section 31 book involved Voyager and Seven of Nine.  Again, it was just okay.  Imzadi was pretty good.  I read the last half in one evening without staying up really late, so that was fun.  Although I'm pretty sure Picard doesn't call Riker "Number One" as much as they put it into the book.  I swear they made him say it at least five times per page and it just made me want to chuck the book against a wall.

I've now started Allegiance.  As long as I can ignore Mara's horrible hair on the back cover (it's entirely too uniform being blown in the wind), I'll be fine.  Hopefully.

I got kicked out of greyslims  tonight.  It's the furthest I've ever made it in a lims contest - top 4.

I just stayed up till 4 am to read over 350 pages for fun.  Of course taking Excedrine with a bunch of caffeine in it at 8pm tonight probably added to the reason why I'm still awake, but it was mostly the book.  Let's discuss...

-Watched last night's episode of Chuck.  There were too many great things to list, but we'll just say it was an amazing episode.  Great idea to bring the Black Friday funny to the Buy More.
-Bought Fury and might scrap some homework tonight to read it simply because Aaron Allston is my writing hero.
-Kendra in the middle of updating me about stuff at work: "You look really pretty today."  Me: "I didn't shower this morning so I'm compensating with a ton of makeup."
-Bought a Geek Squad flash drive since I've lost my old one.  I named it Nerd Herder to be fair to Chuck, Leroy, Ana, and Lester.
-Wrote a three page paper and once I turn that in and go to a meeting tomorrow, I'll have one class finished.
-Finished off my portfolio (which is probably over 30 pages thick) for my literary class.
-Currently at least 3/5 pages away from finishing my term paper for history.
-Knew I needed a break from being a grad student by all the stuff I turned into rainbow colorings tonight at work (including shift forms and excel spreadsheets that were highlighted in beautiful colors).  Granted, Jessica would tell you this is not out of the norm, but I try and hold back while out in public so people don't laugh at me.  Like Kendra did.
-Helped open doors for a woman with 3 beautiful kids under the age of 5 or so.  The one in the stroller gave me a huge grin, and of course I returned it.  They were so cute.

1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
Because Josh should've been with Donna the whole seven years the show was on and not the last half of the final season. While Mary Louise Parker is a great actress, she annoyed me like no other.

2. Who is someone you know that ships #13?
Maybe irishsmuggler  or no_redlights ? I don't know, we usually just discuss our Adama/Roslin love.

3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3 (even if the show isn't on the air anymore)
Mara comes back from the dead and kicks Jacen's butt, actually killing him. Then the Skywalkers can live happily ever after once more.

4. Which is your favorite episode for #1? Try to pick just one, if you can.
They're not on TV, so I'll go with a book and say a tie between Allston's Rebel books. So much love for those two (charactersand books).

5. How long have you been following couple #6?
How long have they been together? Year and a half? So, that long.

6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?
I was initially a J/Z shipper, but that was because he was the first romantic interest in line for Jaina, so I didn't really have any other options or choices. And if Kyp were the only other option for Jaina, I'd still be J/Z (sorry lola64 ), but alas the Chiss-trained Fel came into the picture and destroyed my preference for J/Z forever. (Obviously, because every time I went to type J/Z, my fingers automatically typed J/J).

7. Which ship do you prefer - #2 or #4?
Oh my word, don't make me pick between H/L and A/R. They're both so fantastic. I guess if I had to pick one, I'd say Adama and Roslin only because I haven't seen as much of them as I have Han and Leia, and they deserve equal time shares.

8. You have the power to make one ship non existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Izzie and George, hands down. Jim and Karen only annoyed me because Jim should've been with Pam. And in the season finale, as much as it pains me to say it, they were quite cute together. Izzie and George on the other hand (I can just hear hoosiergrlintx  yelling at me right now) was wrong from the start. George was the baby chick to Izzie's mama hen. I don't care how drunk the mama hen is, she never sleeps with her baby chick.

9. What interests you about #14?
Just the absurd possibility of what a relationship between Toby and Pam would be like. I'm sure it wouldn't work, but it is fun to think about.

10. When did you stop liking #7?
I stopped being a shipper for Apollo and Starbuck when I was rewatching the past episodes of BSG and was properly introduced to Sam, who is so much of a better fit for Kara than Lee is. I can't say the same about Dualla and Lee, because I think she should've kept her eyes on Billy. Of course, I haven't gotten caught up enough to happened with that side of the relationship, so I guess I shouldn't comment any more than that.

11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?
The end of Cristina and Burke was one of the reasons I'm not going to be watching Grey's this season. Burke just became a girl and while I enjoyed watching Cristina trying to reach out to him for a while, she and I both got bored and started ignoring him. The relationship was awesome during the second season and just fell apart this past season.

12. What's a song that reminds you of #5?
Pam Pong by Sweet Diss and the Comebacks, probably because that's who the song is about:







13. Which of these ships do you love the most?
Just because I've spent so much time reading and writing them probably Jaina and Jag.

14. Which do you dislike the most?
Izzie and George.

15. If you could have any of these two pairings double date, who would it be?
Jim and Pam double dating with Han and Leia because of all the verbal sparring and banter that would happen.  Oh how I love banter.

16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if you'd like.
Well, they're married and have three kids... so yeah.  Also, you have two of the best scenes from Empire Strikes Back for examples.

17. Did #4 have a happy ending? If the show hasn't ended yet, do you think a happy ending is likely?
They're still working on that happy ending.  Will they get it?  I don't know.  Mary's talk about her character has me worried about what will happen.

18. What would make you start shipping #13?
The episode where they get stuck in the room that's leaking air (sorry can't remember the name of it right now) and just catching up and seeing the little sparks starting to fly.

19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer - #2 or #6?
Without #2, I wouldn't have #1, so I'll keep Han and Leia and scrap George and Izzie.

20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them
Izzie leaves George alone and goes back to Alex; George and Cally live happily ever after.

Spoilers and thoughts about chapters six through the end of Inferno are under the cut...

First, yay for Kelly Clarkson going on tour and huge props to her for having Jon McLaughlin be her opener.  The only thing that I'm not happy about with this setup is that the closest concert is in Chicago.  If it were in Indy, I would be sorely tempted to purchase a ticket.

I have some more chapter reviews of Inferno to do, but I've been holding off due to the lovely presence of homework.  I could've finished the book over the weekend, but got distracted and the book got darker than any Star Wars book I remember reading.  So we'll see what happens next.

Meanwhile, I'm heading into town early before class to get The Office's season 3 on DVDs (can't wait to watch the blooper reel) and to possibly hang out with a friend for a bit before my methods class.  Hope you all have a good Tuesday.

Thoughts and spoilers for Inferno's prologue through chapter five are under the cut.  I feel like I'm behind on the reading curve, but I've got plenty of free time the next few days.

-Had my first class.  It's my second round of methods (ways to teach).  Last semester I had an infuriating teacher and a guy who always wound up in my group whom my friend and I wanted to kill, but thankfully both of them are gone.  In their place are a guy whom my friend and I know, like and get along with, and a teacher whom the new member of the group refers to as a "softie".  Yes, things should go much better.  Although I am sad that another guy in the class isn't there this semester.  Ahh... memories of "ovaries in the drawer"... ok that's one of those stories that take a while to explain and are never as funny as they were in the moment, so moving on.
-Bought Inferno from Borders today.  I'm through the prologue and first chapter.  I'll do my usual review posts later, but for now I'll just say that if I had a nickel for every time Denning has made me roll my eyes in his books, I wouldn't have school loans.
-Woke up with a scratch in my throat that stayed with me all day.  So I went to the store and bought tea, honey, and ice cream.  What flavor?  Yellow cake with frosting and sprinkles.  Oh yes, it's amazing.
-Fell further in love with Imogen Heap.  If you haven't heard "Hide and Seek" or "The Moment I Said It", please do.  It's kind of crazy sounding, but I think if the northern lights made sound, it would be like her music.
-Got a homework assignment that requires me to ask a question to five different people face to face or over the phone.  If you are interested in participating, let me know.


And now I have to calm myself down and go to bed in order to get up at 7am tomorrow morning for my 9:30 class.  Joy.

Last night I dreamt that a guy I went to high school with proposed to me, even though we hadn't been dating.  He had a few Star Wars books in his hands when he asked as if I were to say no he could use those to barter with or something.  He wanted me to pick out my own ring so as an inbetween he offered the championship ring from a basketball tournament he participated in at the YMCA (apparently it was a very ritzy YMCA).    Weird.

On other random fronts, I'm now through the first season of BSG and two episodes of the second season.  I think my favorite little moment so far is how Kara is so irreverant with the arrow and even accidently sits on it.  I still see that show in shots where I think "That would make a sweet icon."  Maybe someday.

Just a quick note to say I get to run away for a couple of days.  I'm leaving as soon as I can eat, shower, and pack for the Greater Cincinnati area to visit three different sets of friends.  I love trips where I can multitask.

So since it's the summer, the city's bus schedule is far more sparse than when school is in session. Thus, it's faster for me to walk the twenty-five minutes for school to my car at the mall than it is to wait for a bus to come and drive around campus before going back to the mall. This walk involves walking past a strip mall. A strip mall that includes Borders. A Borders that was offering Sacrifice at 30% off. I'm such a sucker. Expect spoilers and my commentary like I did with Exile.
